Another brick in the wall
The first image of a black hole was released on April 10, 2019 by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration. The image is of a supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy Messier 87. The image was published in six scientific publications on April 10, 2019, at a wavelength of 1.3 mm.
